I made Kagamine Rin’s Bow!!

I have been obsessed with Vocaloid and my favorite character is Rin. I made the white bow on top of her head…I’m planning to cosplay as her… :]

Tutorial:

Materials:

White Felt
A White Headband
Paper / Pencil
Scissors
Pins
Cotton Balls or Craft Stuffing
A pen you can write with on the fabric
Needle+Thread or Sewing Machine

STEP 1: DRAW A TEMPLATE!

Draw a wing/leaf-like shape on a piece of paper. Try to make it look FAT…Rin’s bow is gigantic. After that draw a border around it. IT SHOULD BE ABOUT 1 cm. THICK!! The line inside the shape is unnecessary. Cut around the border.

STEP 2: TRACE+CUT THE FABRIC!

Trace your template onto your fabric…(I recommend that you don’t use a highlighter like I did…I couldn’t find a fabric pen –.-‘’) After that simply cut it out. REMEMBER TO CUT OUT 4 IF THEM!

STEP 3: PIN TIME!

Pin 2 pieces together. Leave room for when you sew them together..REMEMBER 1 CM.!!

STEP 4: SEWING

Draw a line about 1/4 in from the base of the bow. DO NOT sew past that line. That is where you will turn it inside-out and stuff the bow. Do the same to the other side. The result of this should look like this:

BTW – I was hand sewing this (I couldn’t figure out how to set up the sewing machine…hehe) If you are using a sewing machine your result should look better than mine.

I am sorry…I was so impatient I didn’t take anymore pictures to show you….I will try and explain it as good as I can…>.<

STEP 5: STUFF

I used cotton balls but you can use professional craft stuffing. Be sure to pull apart the stuffing to make it more puffy. Stuff your bow. Fold the flap about 1 cm. in and pin if needed. And sew the opening close. Do the same to the other side.

STEP 6: FOLD IT

Once you have the opening closed, fold it in half. Hold on to the base of the bow and it should look like a cone. Pin the base together and sew. Do the same to the other side.Sorry for the bad explanation….look at the top picture for reference.

STEP 7: SEW THE ENDS TOGETHER

Hold the 2 sides of the bow together. Arrange them to the desired appearance. Sew the 2 ends securely so they wont fall apart when you are wearing them HEH. It may look ugly but its ok. Cut out a piece of fabric to cover the ends so no one will see it. It will be the bias of the bow. Wrap it around the bias and sew. If it is too long you can cut it off. Just sew the back of the bow to the bias. You might wanna sew over it a couple times just to be sure it wont fall apart. ^^

STEP 8: HEADBAND

Slip the headband into the bias. Postion the bow on the top of the headband and sew them together so the bow will stay put. (optional) – instead of sewing, you can glue the bow to the headband. (I didn’t have a white headband…so I just got a random headband and painted it white.

TADA! YOU MADE A BOW! ^^

my last day of 7th grade!

I know I haven’t wrote anything for a while lol!

Yesterday was my last day of the 7th grade and I already miss everyone!!!! but we still keep in touch which is still pretty good! Middle school was different that I expected, but the worst part of it was that there a ton of fights….

I’m sooooo happy that school is over but I’ll miss my friends…now that I think of it im the only asian person in the group lol! Next year ill be in the 8th grade and everything’s gonna change!

I bleached my hair the day before all this happen…I was gonna wear a hat all day but then someone pulled it off and….HAHA

I’ll try to write more often…or I’ll probably abandon the blog again heh…
